Robert Sherman
For me, reality is not a solid thing. It is different for each point of view. Our experience of a moment will be uniquely our own. It will move backwards and forwards in time. It moves backwards through memories and forward through hope and fear.
Mandala Series:A word from Sherman:
What is Art?
Art is, or is considered to be the artists’ vision, a unique perception of reality that can be felt by the viewer.
What is a Mandala?
A Mandala can be a beautiful picture that pulls you into the artists’ world where you feel comfort and kinship. It can be a tool for meditation and to use it, you can hang it near a comfortable chair, then sit and relax yourself. The focus is on the center white dot. The more you relax the more you start to see. The images move for some people. Just stay relaxed and the colors will begin to pulse. Remain relaxed. Everything will be encompassed in bright white light, you are now centered, relaxed, at peace. It feels good to laugh and to love.
The viewer may find it easier to reach this feeling by repeating a mantra while viewing the center of the mandala and focusing on the white dot in the middle. A Mantra can be any word that holds meaning for you and repeated over and over. Example: love, compassion, joy, God, any word that you have a relationship to that helps you relax. Concentrate.
