Contemporary Artist: Maryam Moeeni

Maryam began painting in the mid 1980's while studying interior design in Arizona. She moved to Arkansas in 1991 when her husband joined the faculty of ASU. Maryam received her BFA with an emphaisi in Graphic Design and her MA in paiting in 2004 from ASU.
DREAMLIKE ENCOUNTER WITH NATURE "Art has always been a means to present my complex feelings about nature, which are more than I can see by direct observation. I prefer abstract expressionism because this style gives me more freedom. My goal has been to develop a personal and creative vision that is distinct and satifies my thoughts and imagination. That exclude exploring new approaches to space, and composition in painting and finding fresh possibilities in forms and technique.
